Thornton-le-Dale.

Thornton-Le-Dale is a beautiful and pleasantly traditional place to visit.  The village has something for all ages.  Whilst retaining its charm and quirkyness, Thornton-le-Dale has a huge range of amenities, including bespoke craft shops and galleries, along with some fine eateries serving home cooked local produce.  The village is in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, within a few miles of Pickering and Dalby Forest.  Visit the village website -  CLICK HERE

Food and Drink

There are two excellent pubs in the village; The New Inn and The Buck.  Both offer home cooked meals, roaring log fires and are very dog friendly.  They both have an extensive menu available throughout the day, including daily home-cooked specials.

 

There are several tea-rooms in the village, offering traditional teas, cakes and snacks.

Activities

If being on the doorstep of the North York Moors and the outdoor activities it has to offer.  The village also caters for those who fancy some yoga, zumba or a game of squash.

 

There a several play parks for the kids, whilst maintaining a nice environment for the adults.  

 

Dalby Forest and its miles of Mountain Bike trails is just a short drive away.

 

 

Wildlife Haven

In the heart of the North York Moors National Park and within a stones throw of Dalby Forest, Thornton le Dale offers an excellent staging post to visit rural Yorkshire.

The campsite itself is set on the outskirts of the village, offering woodland walks and panoramic views.  Great for walking or enjoying a morning run before you embark on a day of exploring.

If the produce offered by the smallholding adjacent to the campsite is not enough to provide you daily provisions.  Just a short walk into the village will enable you to replenish everything you need.
